The Marumi gradual brown filter is generally used to shoot sunrises and sunsets as it enhances the sky. Visually, the filter is transparent along one side and brown along the other, with a gradual transition from one colour to the other in the middle. The filter can be rotated while affixed to the camera lens, giving you the ability to achieve the effect you desire.
